Negotiation: In search of mutual benefit

Weirdo... Isn't it !

I am learning negotiation as if I don't know. I knew it, but today I came to know how effective were my techniques.

There were many examples taken which I was able to relate to myself. Today was the first day and I must say it was ''quite a learning''. But I don't want to give the whole credit to the curriculam as I am a big fan of the Trainer who is faciliatating this training to us, yes ''Anand Chaturvedi'' coutry manager, training and development.

We hald even half day curriculam is pending however I was so impressed with the training on first day itself that it made me to update my blog.

Learning... is what I want to do every moment, and I am happy that I am learning new things. :)

Mahabalipuram - 2nd time

Frank wants to go to Mahabalipuram, he wants to see something out on Saturday my boss told me and asked, How I am placed on Saturday?

Frank was handling some of the very key accounts for our company and this is his 3rd time in Chennai from Jan 10. Unusually he travels over weekdays and returns however this time he got 1 spare day and wanted to see something other than Indian offices. Our mangement suggested ''Mahabalipuram''... and Bang On.

Saturday 25 Sept we (I and Prabhat) booked cab for Frank and took him to Mahabalipuram. On the way we first dropped in to Crocodile park, where even this was my first time...''so many crocodile, and of different varieties'' this place was awesome... the only thing giving me unformfort, was the beggars in front of the crocodile park gate... Pulling our pants asking money... Frank who was an elderly guys was feeling quite uneazy and so do we... Somehow we manged to cross this milestone, and moved towards Mahabalipuram. We first took our lunch at one restaurant infront of Moonracker (of the same group) and then moved to see Seashore Temple. After Seashore temple we went to 5 Ratna (kind of temple) and then to Krishna butter Ball. We tried covering Dakshinachitra while coming back but reached there at closing time, and couldn't visit the real stuffs there.

Overall the visit was good and Frank was happy, he liked this and places we visted, and he told us just before we bade goodbye to him "so far this was my best day in India''... Even we were happy now, as if we have accomplised something.

My mobile got PUSH mail

I don't if push mail is the name... but my mobile got the power to recieve mails real time. I was trying to setup email on my phone from long time but it's was always showing some error. Last week when I visited vodafone store I came to know ''Vodafone Mobile Connect'' is not yet subscribed for my number. Thinking that this will solve the problem I left vodafone store as it takes 24 hrs to activate the service once the request is sent.

It didnt work even after enabling vodafone mobile connect, so I visted store again yesterday. The guys i met was the same who tried resolving my problem last time.

Bull's eye this time... now my phone got mail... Live mail.

I am happy !!! :)

Vellore - 18 Sep

It's was a Crash, Bang, Boom approach to make a short trip to Vellore,
actually planned from a long time but as we know we always miss to see
what quite near from us and visit thw whole world. Btw in my case
neither I am visiting near places not making any overseas trips.

Vellore, we just did it as all the planning were of no use. I thought
I would be seeing all the south Indian famous places during my Chennai
stay but I actually wasn't that active from quite a long. Now since I
have to move to some other place I must cover all what is missed, not
all but whatever I can do. So this made me to go Vellore suddenly.

There isn't much to see in vellore but what is there they are
awesome... First place we visited was Vellore Fort, this wasn't
exactly time a fort but the Temple Insite of the fort is quite a
visiting place... Design on rock and on temple walls are very good and
quite alive. They we move to Golden Temple, we never thought that
Golden Temple is so famous and they have similar arrangment like
Tirupathi Temple for moving people in side for Darshan. Temple was not
that huse but the whole areas and beauty of the golden temple in the
night was mesmerising. I should say you must visit this places at
least once in your life.

We had the plan to stay back in Vellore and come back to Chennai next
day however since we have laready seen the famous places in Vellore
it's wasn't wise to stay back for nothing. So despite of already
booked ticket in next day train we took the bus from Vellore Bus stop
and reached Chennai Koyambedu at around 10 pm and reached home at
10:45 pm which is 5 km from the bus stop and you know why it took 45
minutes to reach home.... because we WALKED ALL THE WAY :)

Biking Re-loaded

18 July, when I met with an accident breaking my collar bone and
giving rib sever pain that is yet to get over... 17 Sept, rode bike to
go office and come back.

Barely 2 months and I am riding bike. In these last 2 month time I
developed a mindset that it's impossible for 3 to 4 months for me to
ride again... I came out of that. Though it wasn't as simple riding
bike for me as it was 2 months back however it wasn't that difficilt
even.. I managed to reach office comfortably taking almost same time
what I used to take early. I even came back from office just now...
And I am quite happy about this.

I shouldn't remain dependent on others... So it's time to be little
self dependent for going to office and coming back.

Walk from office till home

My left side of shoulder is giving pain... I though it will be able to
bear that 3 to 3.5 km walk I did today while coming back from office
to home... Even yesterday it wasn't quite ''no-pain''.

But I am happy... I don't have bike, as I am not supposed to drive.
Rohan used to give me lift on his car and drop me home but he has gone
to Ranchi, and Prabhat my next door neighbour and collegue is always
busy in office till late evening. So I had the only options left was
to either take a bus from office gate till the Kodakbakkam bridge or
WALK... And I choose the latter. But again I can't walk 6 kms, so I
took auto from Vadapalni signal till Kodambakkam bridge which is
around 2 kms.

Now I am at home and it's 8 pm... I started exactly at 7 pm from
office so it's not bad in terms of time consumption. Moreover I am not
doing any excercise due to my broken collar bone and this is kinda
excercise to me.

So, despite of little pain.... I am happy...!

Before going from Chennai I must walk the full distance at least once
from office to home.

Let's see when can I do that. That feat will be posted... So meanwhile
the best thing we can do is to wait.

Idea: Bamboo Planting

Few days back I was just going through Economics Times in the office
during morning tea time and found a column talking about the new usage
of bamboo in furnishing house interior. Quite obvious the demand of
bamboo is going to increase as usages are increasing. Planting bamboo
systematically can be a good business.

As per that column baboo take 3 to 4 month to grow fully, which is
quite a reasonable time to reap good return.

Must look into this once in future quite seriously.

Am I moving out of Chennai?

...it's been 4 and half years... time flew by... learned a lot from
Chennai and yeh liked the place too.

But now it's too much of Chennai... time to move on... I have been
asked to move to Delhi and looking at the profile offered in Delhi I
diregarded the offer... and guess what I am possibly moving to
Hyderabad... I don't know what's the profile I am going to get but
quite sure the experience will be different and that's exciting.

In a couple of months I will be in Hyderabad... Enjoying Hyderabad Blues

I don't love Monday?

Somebody someday told me, someday you will not feel like going to
office and that means you are not enjoying your job... So is that
someday is today. I don't know... I just know that my mails are not
working on this Monday morning and I got some time to juggle around my
phone... So why not blog... Where I am actually getting worst these
days.

Monday mornings are generally hate by most of the professionals as it
brings the weekend to an end... and if you look back and see what have
you done over weekend... ''yeh nothing great''.

So lets be enthusiastic today... I am actually doing self motivation
so that I can kick start the week... So, the fist things I should so
is to make my things to do, so that work can be organised for the
whole day... And also so that we can not miss any of the urgent and
importat stuff.

So its time... And guess what my mails are up... Time to work ppl.

Inception: the movie

It's Friday night and not at any disc but at PVR... Jst came bck after
watchin Inception... and what a movie ot was... MIND BLOWING...!

Human imagination has no limits... Even Avatar was awesome stuff...

So we 3 ppl... i.e Rohan, Prabhat and me watched the flick... And we
all liked it... The story-line was gud... Concept was diffrnt,
animation were so damn real, acting perfecto and direction was
loving...

Overall I rate it 4.5 out of 5...

Lets see which is the nxt movie I see... But wish I can see ''Step up 3D'' ASAP.

Trying ways to make my blogging easy

...if this blog publishes means I have got a better way to blog...
Yeh, I m posting this blog from my mobile through mail and no direct
blogger site... Opening blogger site is a damn though thing in the
kind of bandwidth we have presently in India over GPRS... So finding
different ways to blog and keep documenting all the experinces...

So happy blogging.. shiv...
